It’s a question many of us don’t ask often enough! Yet, wearing the wrong bra size is far more common than you might think.
Recently, Rosa from Two Raw Sisters joined us at The Fitting Room for a personalised fitting experience. Afterwards, she shared her journey on the Two Raw Sisters podcast in a refreshingly honest and insightful conversation, joined by her sister Margo (the sister from Two Raw Sisters!) and Women's Health Physiotherapist Grace Coombs.
Together, they unpacked not only the fitting experience itself, but also the wider implications of wearing a bra that doesn’t support you properly.

WHAT ROSA DISCOVERED
At The Fitting Room, every fitting is customised to each person’s unique body. Rosa came in unsure of what to expect, but left with a new understanding of her body, her size, and how bras are meant to feel.
"They measured me up and I'm a 34E" (said with MUCH shock, amusement and enthusiasm!)
She was fitted into a range of bras that varied slightly in size across styles because every bra is constructed differently and shapes breast tissue differently because of this. Finding comfort and support isn’t about sticking to one size, or thinking "thats not my size" it’s about finding the right combination of style (shape) and size for you.
"I have recently gone through a big shift in my bra-wearing experience and wanted to share the journey!
I didn’t know what size I was as my boobs had changed so much even from pregnancy to post-birth. I had no idea."
....That’s where I decided to go to the fitting room and holy moly, it was such an experience."
"80-85% of women are wearing the wrong size bra – either be too big or too small.
One big reason is probably just a lack of knowledge. But also our breasts change over our life.
Insights from a Physiotherapist’s Perspective
During the podcast, Grace spoke to the physical impacts of poorly fitted bras, including breast movement during exercise, changes in posture, and tension in the shoulders and back. Her insight reinforced how essential the right support is particularly during high impact activity. Grace also shared some stats that blew our minds! You'll have to listen to the podcast for those!
AN EMPOWERING EXPERIENCE
What stood out most from Rosa’s experience was how empowered she felt afterwards with a new confidence in her 'new' size. It wasn’t just about choosing beautiful bras, it was about understanding her shape and choosing what she really wanted - with her Fitting Specialist, Liz on hand to answer questions and select the right things to try. Rosa definitely felt a difference, particularly after so many changes during pregnancy and postpartum, which can be oooooverwhelming, and leaving you just 'making do' with what's already in your drawer.
