No! You can come into any of our stores without having an appointment. We have beautiful stores to browse and comfy places to relax. However, we do work by one-to-one fitting only, which means that if we are fully booked when you pop in, there may be a small wait or we may need to book a fitting for another time. We believe that it is important to be able to give you all our attention during your fitting, and with large stock rooms full of other styles and extra sizes, we put aside 45 minutes for each new customer to be sure you get the very best fitting experience.

If you’ve been to see us before, it often doesn’t take as long, but because of our one-to-one personalised service, we still highly recommend an appointment, particularly on Saturday mornings! But, if you just want to call in, please do, we often have a space. We look forward to seeing you!

Product info

In underwired bras, we stock almost solely D-K cup sizes, with a very wide range of body fit (6-30). We know that women of all sizes sometimes find it difficult to find a good-fitting bra, but D-K cup size is our specialty. Having said that, often women wear a different size after a professional fitting! Your cup size is relative to your body fit, so if you are wearing a size 16C that is loose in the band size, you may find you actually fit a size 12DD. We are very happy to see you for a fitting, even if you are not sure whether you will fit our bras. At the very least, you will go away with a better idea of your actual bra size and what to look for when you're shopping.

We stock non-wired and pocketed bras in smaller cup sizes, starting from AA.

We have bras that give a variety of different profiles. We don’t have any bras specifically called 'a minimiser’. There are some brands that make bras that they call "Minimisers". What these bras do is minimise/reduce forward projection by mostly pulling you in from the front and moving the breast tissue lower and out to the sides. This will give you a flatter and slightly square look. We do not stock these kinds of bras. However, there are some styles that will make your cup size look smaller under clothing and often our customers find that bras with side support do this well, by bringing you in at the sides and giving great uplift. This gives you an overall minimised silhouette and added waist definition.

Keep an eye out on our blog, where we’ll give you our thoughts very soon.

Replace your bra when there is increased breast movement within the bra, or when the underband has stretched, and you are no longer getting a firm fit around your body. If you only have a couple of bras, you may only get a few months wear out of them. If you were to work out how many days you have actually worn each bra you might be surprised at how much of an amazing job they do. Some bras, on the other hand, may last you years.

We are unable to offer this service in-house. However, we have seen the work of Kim from Top Stitch Alterations & Boutique in Christchurch and she has done a fantastic high-quality job with some clothing garments and also sewing prosthesis pockets into bras.

Fittings after breast surgery

It’s up to you. Most importantly, we want to be sure that you are feeling comfortable enough to try garments on, and have our fitters adjust them when on your body, so we suggest approximately 6-8 weeks to let your surgery site heal. From a fitting point of view, this also allows for any swelling to subside which could affect the sizes of prostheses and bras we suggest for you. Trust your instincts, you'll know when you're ready.

If you wish to come in to have a talk to us before, or after, your surgery about what your options are, we are more than happy to have a chat on the phone, or sit down with you in store, even if you don’t want to try anything on that day.

All of our team are trained with our lingerie and swimwear brands, however we have a specific training process before a team member can fit women after any breast surgery.

We want to be sure one of those fitters is available for you when you arrive. We allow 1 hour for a first fitting after surgery, and 30-45 minutes for subsequent fittings. You can still drop in to one of the stores without an appointment, but there may be a short wait or we may need to book a fitting for another time.
More post-surgery fitting info...

For your first fitting after breast surgery, or subsequent surgery, you will need to bring with you your letter from your GP or specialist so we can claim the Breast Prosthesis Subsidy for you. If you wish, it can be quite helpful to bring a firm-fitting top to try on with the products to see how they will look under clothes and check for a good match and symmetry.

Please remember to book an appointment if you can.

Maternity & Nursing

Many women find that within the first trimester they have a significant increase in breast size. Your bra should always be giving you good support and be comfortable, this is the key. Often having a couple of new bras after this initial increase in breast size will last you well throughout the rest of your pregnancy as the breast size tends to plateau before your milk comes in postpartum. Having these new bras fitting you nicely on the tightest hook when they are new will allow you to loosen it around your body as the months go by and your ribcage expands.

Towards the end of your pregnancy it is important to be fitted for a nursing bra. Leave it as late as possible, while still allowing for a few weeks if we need to order something in for you, or if you end up heading into hospital early.

Yes you can, provided the bra fits and the wire sits outside the area of breast tissue.

During the first few weeks of breastfeeding the breasts can easily become engorged and fluctuate a lot during the day. For this reason we recommend waiting until your baby has settled into more of a predictable feeding routine and your supply has regulated itself. At this point you will know how much your breasts fluctuate and we can safely fit an underwired bra to accommodate this.

Wires inside maternity bras tend to be a flexi-wire which is “softer” than a regular underwire. A flexi-wire or underwired bra will not contribute to clogged milk ducts or mastitis as long as the wire is not pressing in on any breast tissue.
